Toward a Greener World

Basically, every day for nearly 20 years, we at The Mad Platter have recycled paper, cardboard, plastics, glass, and metal.
During that same time period we have also turned kitchen scraps into compost for our various flower and herb gardens.
We applaud the current trend toward green thinking and are constantly challenged and encouraged by green innovations.

What we do:
Whenever possible, we buy locally and in bulk.
We seek out and use environmentally friendly cleaning products.
We aggressively protect our waste water from grease contaminants and recycle the grease we collect.
We encourage proper recycling on catered events.
We try to buy recycled/bio-degradable products when they are an option and continue to request such products from the sales people who call on us.
We support the TN Land Trust.
We plant and cultivate two gardens/neighborhood green spaces.
We retrofit our building to be more energy efficient at each opportunity.
We support sustainable agriculture, fair trade, and eco-sensitive fishing. We don’t serve swordfish, sea bass, and other great tasting fish for that very reason.
Sustainability is also a component in our wine selection process.
We also support CSA’s.
Craig would like to add that he walks to work.
To be continued….
